Criminon Florida is a non-profit corporation dedicated to addressing the causes of criminality and bringing about true rehabilitation through the restoration of self-respect and effective education in real-world skills an individual can use to improve their decision-making and reverse negative life habits. By making them responsible for their actions, people under the criminal justice system can become ethical and productive citizens. Our program is designed for both adult and juvenile offenders and has flexible delivery models to fit any institution. We also provide training for correctional officers and program personnel. Criminon Florida is responsible for servicing the entire Southeast United States.
Criminon Florida is a chapter of Criminon International, which operates a network of such groups in 35 countries across the globe, each delivering Criminon workshops, seminars and courses in jails, prisons, parole and probation offices, courthouses and re-entry facilities.
Criminon Florida’s program addresses criminality at the root of the problem - the loss of self-respect. Every criminal career begins when a person can no longer trust him or herself. This factor is addressed and resolved as part of the Criminon program, so that an offender may then continue our curriculum and receive the education needed to overcome the main obstacles they face in life, allowing them to be productive and contributing members of society again. Our program is not limited to the incarcerated, it is also effective in the field of re-entry (ex-offenders on parole and probation).
Criminon Florida utilizes research discoveries made by American author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, who personally worked as a Special Officer for the Los Angeles Police Department in the late 1940s. Mr. Hubbard discovered that every criminal career began with a loss of self-respect. When a man could no longer trust himself, only then did he become a real threat to society.
As early as 1952, Mr. Hubbard began a criminal rehabilitation program with juvenile delinquents in London, England. After two decades of research developments, the Criminon program was born.
